Itinerary

Our tour starts at the Acropolis Metro Station and through the pedestrian road towards the Hill of the Muses, passing in front of the Acropolis Rock. Once on the Hill of the Muses, we'll stroll along paths carved by the famous architect Dimitrios Pikionis until we reach the site known as "Socrates’ Prison". It is there that we will stop for a few minutes and some well-earned rest. Continuing our journey through history, we will hike up the hill to the top, where the ever-standing the pine trees accompanied by the loud song of the cicadas will make you feel like you are back in ancient Greece. Under the refreshing shade of the trees, you will enjoy the most spectacular panorama of the Parthenon, while listening to the stories that formed the city of Athens.

We will proceed towards the hill of Pnyx – where the heart of Athenian democracy beat in antiquity – and then reach the Hill of the Nymphs, passing in front of the National Observatory, the first research foundation of modern Greece and one of the oldest in Southern Europe. Back on the pedestrian road as it descends towards Thisseio (one of the most historic neighborhoods of Athens), where we will take Adrianou street, a place always bustling with people, heading to Monastiraki Square. We will make a stop in front of a few remains from the Roman and Ottoman eras, before entering the busy alleys of the flea market and the Avyssinias Square where antiques for every taste can be found. Finally, we will reach the neighborhood of Psiri where signs of urban life start to appear in the form of graffiti. Street art defines contemporary Athens and gives the city a unique look.

No Greek experience is complete without a culinary element, so our tour will conclude at around 14:00 as we arrive at a local tavern to enjoy some traditional Greek food.
